Bravo Danielle Cohen

Last evening Danielle Cohen arranged for Irving Roth to speak at the High School.  Mr. Roth is a Holocaust survivor and his story was riveting.  Danielle’s senior project involved interviewing Mr. Roth and recording his story as well as an educational component with 5th graders in which she read an age appropriate story about the Holocaust.  Through her efforts a new generation heard a firsthand account of the atrocities of World War Two.  I couldn’t think of a more worthwhile project.

A big thank you to you and the Board for moving the Board of Ed meeting from Thursday to Monday to accommodate this valuable project. Irving Roth is one of very few survivors left who talks about his story. He was only 14 when he and his family was sent to a concentration camp. His story is detailed and very relatable. Roth is a precious link to a past from which we must learn to ensure it will not be repeated.
