Just in Case- What is a delayed opening?

The current weather forecast calls for snow starting this evening and continuing through the morning. Predicted accumulation totals vary and we may require a two-hour delayed opening tomorrow morning. A two hour delay means that every school will start 2 hours later than normal. For example the High School would start at 9:26 am. You should add two hours to your normal bus stop time. Morning Pre-k will be cancelled; afternoon Pre-K would start at the normal time. School will end at the normal time. I will make this decision no later than 5:30am. So if you do not receive a phone call at that time we have a normal opening of school. If you have any further details please contact your child’s school or email me at mnagler@mineola.k12.ny.us.

High School Faculty- Student Olympics

What do you get when you combine the forces of the High School Student Service, The Student Organization and The Key Club? – A massive fund raiser to help Sandy victims. I attended the Faculty Student Olympics yesterday just in time to see Mr. Pereira launch a soccer ball at a picture of my face in the soccer net. Of course when I tried to return the favor, I missed, but I did make the goal. The gymnasium was packed with spectators as 12 teams competed to see who would emerge the best team. A great time was had by all. Kudos to all of the Student organizers as well as the advisors- Eileen Burke, Nancy Regan, Mary Owens, Tara McDonnell, Denise Zunno, Frank Massaro and Fran Sclafani
