I know I sound like a broken record but the talent of our students continually amazes me! Thirteen was a masterpiece and an incredibly energetic show from start to finish. The premise of the show is the trails and tribulations of a boy “becoming a man” and I think the actors really connected to the story and the themes. I couldn’t stop laughing every time Joe Massaro and Joe Lao where on stage. Add Kevin and Rohit and the ‘team’ ruled! Rebecca Bastos has a voice from heaven. Danny Willis’ delivery is impeccable. Matt Eisen was the anchor; his skill at delivering difficult lyrics and lines is unparalleled. Marco Lisonek- who knew? Siobhan’s portrayal of Lucy was incredible I really believed she was vicious. Natalie Post was the modern day Sandra Dee. Just when I thought it was over; Kristyn Velez, Brittany Vera and Emily Mahlmann stole the show. WOW that was some finale. Add an incredible ensemble and the show rocked from start to finish. As always the crew delivered seamless set changes, lighting cues and great sound. Kudos to Mr. Owens, Mrs. Duignan, Mr. Carreras and Alumni choreographer Aislinn Oliveri.
Bravo to all of the performers, directors, choreographers, crew, set designers, and anyone else responsible for such an outstanding show. I was entertained from beginning to end and if I had the time, I would have seen it a second time. Thank you all for giving me such an enjoyable Saturday afternoon; I can’t wait for next year!
We are so glad you enjoyed the production!
What a pleasure it is to work in a community that supports programs like this and understands how important they are to kids. We do have a thriving theater arts program, and it’s special thanks to all of the drama staff, volunteers, parents and, of course, the students.
What a treat it was to perform for such a supportive audience. Parents, family, friends, students, teachers, administrators, alumni, and a growing consortium of out of district people who come to our shows because of how the great support translates into great experiences.
The kids truly have deserved the tremendous performances that they have accomplished over these past few days. During the past three months of rehearsal they have demonstrated hard work, leadership, dedication and an overall good spirit – something everyone on in the audience was able to experience. They held nothing back and were “great,” by anybody’s standard. They have made all of us proud; more importantly, however, they are proud of themselves for all they have accomplished.
Congratulations to all of the ’stars’ and their families, and thanks for your support!
Kudos, indeed! What a thrill to watch kids having a fantastic time on stage…and their enthusiasm was contagious – the entire audience had a blast as well. My heart swells with pride watching these talented young men and women. I am only saddened to know that this was the last show for some of these wonderful people. Not only will I miss them, but audiences will, too.
Bravo to the entire 13 team!
