The Laramie Project

This year’s HS fall production is the Laramie Project. It chronicles the real viewpoints of Laramie Wyoming residents after the murder of Matthew Sheppard in 1998.  The murder was a hate crime motivated by homophobia.  Join me in supporting this powerful production.  Friday November 19 at 7:30, Saturday November 20 at 2:00pm AND 7:30 pm.

Great Job by Joey Lao on making the video

This is an important and powerful play and our students’ performances are very moving. I don’t think anyone who sees it will be able to forget it.

I just arrived home after seeing tonight’s performance of The Laramie Project. I cannot even begin to express how proud I am of the students and staff involved in this production. The performance you delivered was professional, powerful, and incredibly important. I think every audience member (and there were many!) will remember this performance for a long time, due to your amazing portrayal of these characters and your ability to tell this sad and inspiring story. I wish we could find a way to have every student in our high school witness this performance. Bravo!

I am so proud that our High School is performing such an important play. It is a testament to the fine teachers and magnificent students and I for one can’t wait to see it.

Looking forward to a night at The Theatre in Mineola. It’s wonderful to see how much the students have grown over the years and the talent and confidence and class they show when the spotlight is on them…as well as the dedicated behind the scene crew and our staff that molds these kids into stars for the night !!!!

If we do nothing else as a community, we need to come out and support our fine and performing arts. Lately the fall plays have been sparsely attended. Let’s turn out and see the results of our kids hard work.

I hope that everyone joins me in seeing the Laramie Project next weekend, which promises to be incredibly powerful and moving. I also hope that after seeing the show, you take the time to talk about it with your family. Thank you to everyone involved in putting on such an important show.
