Thanksgiving

Willis was abuzz yesterday with Thanksgiving Feasts.  Mrs. Levi’s class had a turkey with all of the trimmings and she baked the apple crisp in class, so the smells dominated the hallway.  Mrs. Lopes woke up at 3:30 am to put her turkey in the oven, she wanted hit “as fresh as possible” for her class celebration!

On a personal note, my wife and I will be hosting our first Thanksgiving tomorrow.  As the holiday season often does, it allows us to take pause and count our blessings.  I am incredibly thankful for being a part of this school district.  December 1st marks my 11th year in Mineola and it has been my privilege to know so many wonderful students, parents and staff members.  Let’s remember to be thankful for the wonderful school system we have and the opportunities that we afford our children. Enjoy the break and don’t eat too much!
