Hampton PARP

Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) is a district wide program that emphasizes reading with your children.  . The parents outdid themselves with this year’s circus theme of “Books are the Greatest Show on Earth”.  As you enter the lobby of Hampton you are welcomed with a circus tent hanging from the ceiling! Every year I am invited as a “VIP” to read to a class.  This year I had the distinct pleasure of reading two stories to Mrs. McInnes’s class.  What a dynamic, intelligent group of students.  We had a great discussion about the books and then the entire class recited the Robert Frost poem- “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”

Big shout out to Anthony, Natalie, Blake, Kristen, Wenny, Reina, Thomas, Emma, Farah, Melanie, Jennifer, Brittany, AnaVcitoria. Can’t wait to visit again.

I also had the great pleasure of reading to Ms. Baker’s first grade class. I had the most amazing time with such a sweet and wonderful class! Kudos to Ms. Baker for having the energy and talent in keeping up with such an energetic and smart group of six-year-olds. I have to tell you that the best part happened when I got a huge group hug – it really made my day!
