Is Singapore really the farthest point from Albertson?

When I visited District Rec at Meadow last night I was blown away by the PTA’S “postcard contest”.  In conjunction with annual book fair the parents created a ‘reading around the world’ theme.  Students were asked to get relatives, friends and acquaintances to send them postcards from around the country and the world.  The students that received the postcard from the farthest point away from the school won a prize.  I saw postcards from Dubai, Australia, Alaska and even the Arctic Circle!  Great Idea!

Thank you! I think that the postcard challenge has sparked an interest within the children to become pen-pals with some of the people that mailed them postcards. It is a beautiful display and to see them from all over the world is amazing!

Thanks for the recognition! The PTA is so grateful to Jen Aiosa and Aileen Scott who ran the book fair, created the challenge and made the display and all the other parents who helped! It is a highlight of the year!
